Overview

The Temporary Graduate visa is the bridge between finishing your Australian qualification and your next step — full, unrestricted work rights that many graduates use to build the local experience needed for a skilled or employer-sponsored permanent pathway.

Who it's for

  • Recent graduates of an eligible Australian qualification (bachelor's degree or higher, or select diploma/trade qualifications)
  • Anyone who held a Student visa during their course and completed the Australian study requirement

Key requirements

  • At least 2 academic years of study completed in Australia
  • Application lodged within 6 months of your course completion date
  • Functional to competent English from a single test sitting
  • Adequate health insurance for the visa period
  • Under the applicable age limit at time of application
Good to know

Your exact stream and stay length depend on your qualification level, and studying in a designated regional area can add extra years onto your stay. Your adviser will confirm which stream and duration applies to your specific case.
